Which Packaging Route Fits Your Product?
For an individually portioned soup mix, evaluate a premade flat pouch for a manageable small filling operation or printed rollstock for a compatible automatic line. A resealable stand-up pouch can suit multi-serve retail use. Select dimensions and material using the complete recipe, including salt, fats and dried vegetable pieces.
This page covers dry soup powders and dehydrated mixes. Ready-to-eat liquid soup, retort pouches and boiling food inside the bag are separate applications.
Packaging for Your Actual Product
Instant Soup Powder
Fine blends may include starches, dairy ingredients or fats. Review dosing, dust and the complete recipe before specifying the film.
Broth & Seasoning Mixes
Concentrated soup bases can have different serving weights and aroma requirements. Keep preparation directions distinct from the package specification.
Soup Mixes with Dried Pieces
Herbs, vegetables and other particles change flow and fill volume. Confirm the largest inclusions and the normal powder-to-piece ratio.
Choose Soup Sachets, Sharing Pouches or Automatic Film
| Format | A practical fit | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Flat premade sachet | Small filling operations that can dose and seal individual portions. | Usable opening, largest dried pieces, clean seal area and actual filled volume. |
| Resealable stand-up pouch | A retail soup mix opened for several servings. | Pouring or scooping access, zipper clearance and the first heat seal. |
| Printed sachet rollstock | Compatible automatic portion-packing equipment. | Approved web width, repeat, registration, unwind, reels and dosing/seal conditions. |

A Soup Mix Is More Than Its Finest Powder
Use the full recipe in the filling brief. Dried herbs, vegetable pieces, noodles or other inclusions may flow and settle differently from fine powder. Confirm the largest pieces, normal mix ratio and how the dosing system maintains a consistent serving.
For premade bags, leave room for the funnel or nozzle and the first heat seal. Long narrow stick packs can be difficult to fill manually. About 5 cm of usable opening is a starting reference for a trial, not a promised exterior bag width or a rule for every blend.
Review the Soup Recipe Before Choosing the Laminate
Salt, dairy ingredients, fats, dehydrated vegetables and flavor components can produce different packaging needs. Define the moisture and oxygen requirements, aroma expectations, light exposure, target shelf life and storage before selecting the material. Suitable clear, metallized or foil-containing structures can be evaluated for the agreed application.
The finished seal matters as much as the film specification. Review dust control, dosing height, product settlement and clean seal lanes with the filling-equipment supplier. Run trials with the actual recipe, including its larger inclusions.
A viewing window is optional, not essential for identifying the flavor. An intact transparent-film window can show the contents. A continuous opaque aluminum-foil or metallized layer cannot remain across that transparent area. A clear front with an opaque foil or metallized back is a different construction; assess the complete pack against the storage requirements. Printed ingredient and prepared-soup photography can identify the product on an opaque pouch.

Printed Soup Sachet Film for Your Filling Line
We supply printed rollstock on reels for a compatible machine to form, dose and seal the sachet. Provide the approved film drawing, net serving weight, powder behavior and any dried pieces. Confirm roll limits and sealing conditions before production.
A finished sachet shown in a design concept illustrates a consumer format. The machine supplier confirms web width, cut pitch and sealing geometry; artwork approval alone does not confirm machine compatibility.
Prepare the Information for a Soup Packaging Quote
| Buyer information | Useful detail |
|---|---|
| Recipe and serving | Dry blend category, relevant fats/dairy, largest inclusions, net weight and servings per pack. |
| Filling process | Manual, semi-automatic or automatic; nozzle/funnel or machine drawing. |
| Storage brief | Target shelf life, expected storage, light protection and required performance data. |
| Artwork and order | Flavor count, quantity per design, pack size if known, logo and delivery destination. |
Make the Printed Pack Useful to Buyers and Easy to Reorder
Make the Product Clear
Use a readable product name, flavor and net quantity. Coordinate colors across the range while keeping each recipe or serving size easy to identify.
Respect Functional Areas
Reserve seal lanes, folds, opening features and date-code space. Place approved ingredients, relevant allergens, barcode and preparation or storage instructions where they remain readable.
Approve a Controlled File
Confirm the drawing, material, text, colors and artwork version before production. Editable print files are preferred; an AI concept or JPG can begin the discussion but may require preparation for printing.
Printing, MOQ, Samples and Lead Time
| Route | Planning reference | Confirm for your order |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary digital pouches | Some suitable projects around 100 pieces; approximately 1,000–3,000 generally recommended for value. | Format, dimensions, material, finishes and quantity per design. |
| Ordinary gravure pouches | Generally around 10,000 pieces. | Artwork/cylinder requirements, structure and repeat-order quantity. |
| Printed rollstock | Some compatible digital trials around 10 kg; normal commercial recommendation around 300 kg+. | Machine drawing, process, material, reel format and separately quoted trial scope. |
These are conditional planning figures. Very small bags, special formats and processes may need different quantities. Flat-bottom pouches use separate production and sample rules; do not apply the ordinary-pouch minimum to every format.
Reference and Custom Samples
Available reference samples are normally free with buyer-paid freight. Ordinary printed pouch samples are typically USD 50–70 each; selected special finishes may be USD 100–150. Flat-bottom printed samples are USD 110 each, before separately quoted extra finishes. Film trials are quoted separately.
Production Timing
Typical digital production is around 8–10 working days. Gravure cylinder making typically takes 7–9 working days, followed by around 15–20 days of production after cylinders are ready.
Start and Delivery Conditions
Timing follows final artwork/specification approval and receipt of required payment. Materials, trials, special processes, scheduling, holidays and transport affect the actual delivery plan.

About Runlong Pack →Instant Soup Powder Packaging FAQ
Key format, minimum-order and timing information is shown above. These questions address the practical details buyers often need before requesting a quote.
Can you make packaging for instant soup powder and dehydrated soup mix?
Suitable dry powder and dehydrated-mix projects can be evaluated as premade pouches or printed rollstock. Share the complete recipe category, largest pieces, serving weight, storage target and filling process. Liquid soup and retort products require a separate brief.
Should I choose a premade soup sachet or automatic rollstock?
A suitable flat premade pouch can be used for an operation that fills and seals each bag. Rollstock needs a compatible machine that forms, doses and seals the sachet. Compare the real dose, usable opening, equipment and quantity before choosing.
Can I order long narrow soup-powder stick packs?
A narrow stick format is usually produced from rollstock on compatible automatic equipment. Manual filling becomes harder as the opening narrows. For a small premade-pouch operation, about 5 cm of usable opening can be an initial trial reference, subject to the actual powder, inclusions, funnel and seal clearance.
What material is suitable for a soup powder pouch?
Review salt, fats, dairy or other ingredients, dried pieces, moisture and oxygen requirements, aroma, light exposure, target shelf life and sealing. Suitable clear, metallized or foil-containing laminates can be evaluated for the actual recipe. Validate the final filled package.
Can the consumer pour boiling water directly into the bag?
Do not assume that an ordinary dry soup pouch is suitable for boiling-water preparation. That use needs a separate temperature, duration, structure, handling and food-contact assessment. The standard scope here is emptying the dry mix into another preparation vessel.
How can I keep powder and herbs out of the seal?
Review dosing position, product settlement, dust control, top clearance and seal timing with the filling-equipment supplier. Test representative filled packs. Material selection is only one part of achieving a clean, consistent seal.
Can the same bag size cover different soup flavors?
Check each actual recipe first. A fine powder and a mix with larger dried vegetables may have different volume, flow and sealing needs. One common size is approved only after filled samples represent every intended SKU.
What is the MOQ for custom soup-powder bags?
Some suitable ordinary digital pouch projects can be evaluated around 100 pieces, with approximately 1,000–3,000 generally recommended for value. Ordinary gravure pouches generally start around 10,000 pieces. Format, dimensions, material, finishes and quantity per design determine the final minimum; very small and special bags need separate assessment.
Can soup packaging include a zipper or transparent window?
Suitable multi-serve pouches can include a zipper beneath the initial heat seal. A window can be evaluated against the storage brief; opaque foil or metallization cannot remain continuously across the clear area. Keep powder clear of both the zipper and the heat-seal lane.
Can I request samples before a soup packaging order?
Available reference samples are normally free with buyer-paid freight. Custom samples or printed film trials are quoted to their specification. Send the product, dimensions and process so we can agree what the sample needs to demonstrate.
