Custom Printed Bags & Rollstock • B2B Manufacturing
Custom Nut Packaging
Printed pouches and rollstock for nut brands, roasters and food manufacturers—chosen around your product, shelf life and packing line.
From almonds and cashews to pistachios and mixed nuts, build a packaging specification that balances protection, retail presentation and production fit.
Images show packaging design concepts, not customer endorsements or approved food labels. Printed weights and nutrition claims are illustrative, not confirmed specifications.

A Clear Starting Point
What Packaging Should You Choose for Nuts?
Quick Answer: Custom nut packaging includes printed empty pouches and rollstock film specified for whole nuts, kernels and nut mixes. Choose premade bags when your filling process accepts finished pouches; choose rollstock when your equipment forms, fills and seals the pack. Confirm moisture, oxygen and light protection alongside sealing and any nitrogen flushing. Eligible ordinary digital pouch projects may start around 100 pieces, with around 1,000–3,000 recommended for better value; format-specific limits still apply.
| Supply formats | Premade stand-up, flat-bottom and flat pouches; printed rollstock for compatible equipment. |
|---|---|
| Ordinary digital pouches | Some eligible projects from around 100 pcs; around 1,000–3,000 pcs recommended. Confirm quantity per design. |
| Ordinary gravure pouches | Generally around 10,000 pcs; final MOQ depends on format, size, structure and artwork. |
| Flat-bottom digital projects | Around 1,000–2,000 pcs can be evaluated; do not assume the ordinary 100-piece reference applies. |
| Printed rollstock | Some compatible digital trials from around 10 kg; normal commercial orders recommended around 300 kg+. Not a universal MOQ. |
| Digital finished-pouch width | Maximum approximately 37 cm. Larger finished widths require another suitable production route. |
| Typical production timing | Digital: approximately 8–10 working days. Gravure: cylinders approximately 7–9 working days, then production approximately 15–20 days. |
Timing starts after final artwork/specification approval and receipt of required payment. Shipping, sampling and additional validation are separate.
What Is Custom Nut Packaging?
It is the empty flexible package made to your nut product’s presentation, filling and protection requirements. A resealable stand-up pouch has a bottom gusset for shelf display and a zipper for repeated opening. A flat-bottom bag offers a different base and panel layout, while printed rollstock becomes the final pack on the customer’s machine.
The initial seal above the zipper closes the retail pack before opening. After opening, the zipper supports convenient use; it does not reproduce the original unopened-package barrier or prove a shelf-life claim.
For nuts, the specification should account for oxidation of oils, moisture pickup, handling damage and the actual storage environment. A good-looking bag or a named laminate alone is not enough to establish a suitable shelf life.

Premade Nut Bags or Printed Rollstock?
Start with how you will pack, not only how the finished package should look. Buying premade pouches for a rollstock machine—or film for a pouch-only filler—creates a format mismatch.
Stand-Up Zipper Pouches
A practical retail route when display, repeated opening and a premade-pouch filling process matter. Confirm the zipper, top-seal allowance, gusset and usable filling opening.

Protection Before Appearance
Materials & Barrier for Nut Packaging
Select the complete structure around the nut, roast or coating, shelf-life target, distribution conditions and filling process. Runlong uses food-grade raw materials for flexible packaging production and does not use recycled, secondary or scrap materials. This policy is not a blanket certificate for every final application.
Moisture Protection
Moisture pickup can change the texture of dry nuts. Confirm the moisture-barrier requirement and how sealing, storage humidity and distribution conditions will be evaluated.
Oxygen & Light Protection
Nut oils can be affected by oxidation. Assess oxygen and, where relevant, light protection together with the product and intended shelf life. A window changes the package’s light exposure.
Sealing & Puncture Resistance
Check sealability against your machine conditions and product contamination. In-shell products and handling loads may justify closer attention to puncture resistance and package integrity.
Clear Windows & Barrier Options
A transparent window cannot have a continuous aluminum foil or metallized layer across the viewing area. Those layers are opaque and would prevent product visibility.
For a display-and-barrier balance, evaluate a clear-window front panel with an aluminum foil or metallized back panel, subject to pouch format and manufacturing confirmation. Transparent film still covers and seals the window; it is not an open hole in the package.
This is not equivalent to an all-foil pouch. The clear-window area affects the complete package’s oxygen, moisture and light protection. Confirm the structure, window size, nut type, target shelf life, nitrogen-flushing conditions and actual package testing before approval.
Material names are a starting point, not an approval.
Conventional clear laminates, metallized or foil barriers, and selected PE-based barrier designs can be reviewed where suitable. Layer sequence, thickness, adhesives, sealant, processing and actual test conditions determine performance. No universal OTR, WVTR or shelf-life figure is promised here.
The final structure should be confirmed against your product, shelf life, filling method and market requirements. Compare barrier approaches in our EVOH, AlOx, VMPET, aluminum foil and KPET guide. A recycling-oriented PE design is not automatically certified recyclable in every market.
Printing Options & Nut Packaging MOQ
Choose printing around quantity per design, pouch construction and reorder plans. Almond, cashew and pistachio artworks are separate SKUs even when the finished bag dimensions match.
Eligible Ordinary Pouches
Digital Printing
~100 pcs evaluated
Recommended: ~1,000–3,000 pcs for better value in suitable ordinary pouch projects. Supports multi-design evaluation without gravure cylinders. Flat-bottom and other special formats have different practical quantities.
Confirm the minimum for each artwork; combined-order pricing is not automatic. Finished pouch width is limited to approximately 37 cm.
Stable Commercial Designs
Gravure Printing
Generally ~10,000 pcs
Evaluate for suitable ordinary pouch projects, stable artwork and repeat orders. Include cylinder charges and artwork-specific quantities when comparing total cost.
Final MOQ depends on format, dimensions, laminate, colors and production requirements. Other formats may have higher thresholds.
Available Matching Inventory
Stock Pouch Overprinting
Project review
Useful when a suitable stock size and surface can accept your simpler print requirement. Stock availability, print area, color count and order quantities must be confirmed.
Single-color overprinting is different from a fully custom, full-color package. No universal nut-stock MOQ is promised.
Flat-bottom digital projects can be evaluated around 1,000–2,000 pcs; at 3,000+ pcs compare digital and gravure total costs. For film, compatible digital trials may be evaluated from around 10 kg, while around 300 kg+ is recommended for normal commercial orders. Neither reference applies to every rollstock project.

Confirm Size, Filling & Production Limits
A pouch marked 250 g in a design concept is not a validated 250 g specification for your product. Whole nuts, kernels, coated nuts and blends differ in bulk density and filling behavior. Use your actual product to confirm usable capacity, headspace and sealing access.
| Confirm before quotation | Provide or review | Validation point |
|---|---|---|
| Nut and condition | Type, kernels/in-shell, raw/roasted, seasoning or coating. | Actual product and contact conditions. |
| Pouch dimensions | Width, height, gusset/base, zipper and top-seal allowance. | Fill and close a representative bag. |
| Target pack | Fill weight, headspace, display and handling expectations. | Capacity is not inferred from artwork alone. |
| Nitrogen-flushed project | Equipment, seal sequence, line speed and acceptance criteria. | Residual oxygen and seal integrity require actual trial review. |
| Printed film | Web width, repeat, winding diagram, eye mark, core and roll limits. | Confirm registration, forming and sealing on your machine. |
| Market and label | Destination, required documents, ingredients, allergen and label text. | Buyer-approved artwork and applicable regulatory review. |
Nut packaging is not automatically validated for hot-fill or thermal processing. If your process includes unusual temperature or treatment, disclose it before material approval. Digital finished widths over approximately 37 cm are unavailable through that route; stock sizes remain subject to inventory.

Custom Nut Packaging FAQ
What is the MOQ for custom nut packaging?
Some eligible ordinary digital pouch projects may start around 100 pcs, with around 1,000–3,000 pcs recommended for better value. Ordinary gravure pouches generally start around 10,000 pcs. Flat-bottom digital projects can be evaluated around 1,000–2,000 pcs. Final MOQ depends on format, size, material, features and quantity per artwork; these are not universal nut-packaging minimums.
Can I order several nut designs together?
Compatible digital projects can be evaluated for multiple artworks, but the minimum per design and combined-order pricing must be confirmed. Gravure artworks normally require separate cylinder evaluation. Provide the total quantity and the quantity of each SKU.
Should I choose premade nut pouches or rollstock?
Use premade pouches for manual, semi-automatic or compatible premade-pouch filling. Use rollstock when your machine forms, fills and seals film. Confirm equipment, format and trial requirements before selecting the supply route.
Which material keeps nuts fresh?
No single structure or shelf-life promise applies to every nut product. Review moisture, oxygen and light protection, oil or coating, sealing, filling method, storage and target shelf life. The complete structure and actual validation conditions must be confirmed.
Can nut packaging be nitrogen flushed?
A suitable packaging structure can be evaluated with the actual nitrogen-flushing and sealing setup. Confirm headspace, equipment, line speed and acceptance criteria, including residual oxygen and seal integrity where applicable. Nitrogen flushing alone does not guarantee shelf life.
Can I use a zipper or a clear window?
A zipper supports repeated opening but does not replace the original heat seal. A transparent window cannot have a continuous aluminum foil or metallized layer across the viewing area. For a display-and-barrier balance, a clear-window front panel can be evaluated with an aluminum foil or metallized back panel, subject to the pouch format and manufacturing review. This is not equivalent to an all-foil pouch: the window still affects overall oxygen, moisture and light protection. Confirm the complete structure against nut type, target shelf life, nitrogen flushing and actual testing.
Can you make a bag for a particular nut weight?
Provide the actual nut, target weight and dimensions or a reference pack. Whole nuts, kernels and mixes differ in bulk density. Confirm capacity through actual filling and sealing trials; the weights printed on concept images are not standard validated sizes. Digital finished-pouch width is limited to approximately 37 cm.
What are the sample costs and production lead times?
Limited reference samples are normally free with shipping paid by the buyer. Eligible ordinary custom printed samples are approximately USD 50–70 each; special-finish samples approximately USD 100–150, subject to project review. Typical digital production is approximately 8–10 working days. Gravure cylinders take approximately 7–9 working days, followed by approximately 15–20 days of production after cylinder completion. Approval, payment conditions, sampling and shipping must be considered separately.
Is every nut packaging structure FDA certified or recyclable?
No blanket certification is claimed. Applicable reports relate to their specified samples, materials and test conditions. Recycling suitability depends on the complete package and destination-market systems. Food-grade raw materials and a PE-based design do not automatically establish every final-use compliance or recycling claim.
What should I provide for a nut packaging quotation?
Provide nut type and condition, fill weight, dimensions, format, quantity per design, SKU count, material or performance needs, artwork, closures, filling equipment, nitrogen-flush requirements, shelf-life target and delivery market.
