Which Packaging Fits Your Chocolate?

A printed stand-up pouch can suit multi-serving bites, drops or coated nuts. A flat pouch may fit selected portion packs, while printed rollstock is evaluated for suitable automatic wrapping lines.

First confirm direct food contact and the storage brief. Loose chocolate and individually wrapped assortments need different reviews. Evaluate oils, aroma, light exposure, product fit and sealing together; ordinary flexible packaging does not replace temperature control.

Different pieces, different packaging details

Chocolate Bags for Your Product Range

For a dry powder range, compare cocoa powder packaging and its filling and storage requirements.

Chocolate Bites & Pieces

Check thickness, corners, surface condition and packing arrangement. Allow room for loading and removal without forcing pieces through a narrow opening.

Drops & Chocolate Beans

Review bulk volume, coating if present and pourability. Assess the filled base and the usable zipper opening for repeated serving.

Chocolate-Coated Nuts

Share the nut type, piece size and coating. Review the whole product, including oils, aroma, material contact and any hard edges.

Wrapped Assortments

Include the individual wrappers when checking fit, bag loading and transport. Confirm the role of the outer bag separately from the primary packaging.

Planning Chocolate Bar Flow Wrap?

Share the product or tray dimensions, machine model, web width, repeat length, eye mark, unwind direction, core and maximum reel size. Describe direct-contact requirements and the proposed sealing method.

Heat exposure near the product and seal area needs review with the equipment supplier. Cold-seal and other special processes require separate confirmation; a film illustration does not establish supply capability or machine compatibility.

Choose the Structure Around the Chocolate

Tell us the chocolate recipe category, inclusions, surface condition and storage/distribution requirements. Review suitable transparent, metallized or foil-containing constructions using the complete package brief. Film thickness or a metallic appearance alone does not establish protection.

Runlong Pack uses food-grade raw materials without recycled, secondary or scrap materials. Available food-contact documents are reviewed for the specific structure, product and use conditions. See our compliance and quality information.

Considering a clear window? It can show the product, but increases light exposure compared with an opaque area. Continuous opaque aluminum foil or metallization cannot remain across a transparent window. A clear front and an opaque back form a different construction, assessed as a complete pouch. Review window pouch options.

Plan Storage, Temperature and Clean Seals

Packaging Supports the Product’s Handling Plan

Provide the condition of the chocolate at packing and the expected warehouse, shipping and retail environment. Temperature changes, moisture and the product’s own formulation or processing can affect its appearance and condition.

An ordinary opaque or foil-containing pouch is not an insulated transport system. It cannot by itself prevent melting, bloom or other product changes. The producer defines and validates the necessary handling and storage conditions.

Keep chocolate residue, filling and fragments away from the zipper and final seal. Confirm sealing with representative contents and the proposed material on the intended equipment.

Size the Bag with the Actual Chocolate Pieces

A 150 g pack of flat bites, drops or individually wrapped chocolates can need different dimensions. Use the real product, including any primary wrappers or trays, when checking the proposed bag.

Confirm the finished drawingDefine external width, height and any gusset measurement convention, with space for loading and the initial top seal.
Check the usable openingReview product size, zipper position and removal. A zipper supports reclosure after opening and does not replace the initial heat seal.
Review filled presentationCheck standing behavior, the intended fill level, artwork visibility and the position of any clear window.
Approve the packed formatAssess product contact, seals, carton fit and transport handling with representative filled packs. Buyers confirm final dimensions before production.

Use our packaging size guide to prepare the brief. There is no universal size for a printed net weight.

Build a Consistent Chocolate Range

Identify the Product Clearly

Make the brand and product type easy to recognize. Use distinct flavor names and coordinated colors for milk chocolate, dark chocolate, coated nuts or assortments.

Prepare the Artwork

Reserve space for ingredients, relevant allergen information, net quantity, storage instructions, barcode and date/lot coding. Buyers provide and approve market-specific wording.

Compare Printing and Finishes

Review digital or gravure using quantity per SKU, dimensions, structure and reorders. Matte, gloss, soft-touch and selected special effects are evaluated for the actual specification.

Seasonal artwork can share an agreed bag format where suitable. Different designs are not automatically priced as one design. Confirm important colors, clear areas and print layers before approval.

Order planning

MOQ, Samples and Production Timing

RoutePlanning referenceReview for your project
Ordinary digital pouchesSome suitable projects around 100 pieces; approximately 1,000–3,000 pieces generally recommended for value.Bag dimensions, structure, finishes and quantity per design.
Ordinary gravure pouchesGenerally around 10,000 pieces.Cylinders, colors, material, size and repeat-order requirements.
Printed rollstockSuitable digital trials around 10 kg may be evaluated; normal commercial recommendation around 300 kg+.Machine and material specification. Film trials are quoted separately and can have a high unit cost.

Conditional references, not universal minimums for every format. Special bags or sealing processes require their own review. The maximum finished digital pouch width is approximately 37 cm; this is not a rollstock web-width limit.

Reference and Printed Samples

Available reference samples are normally free, with buyer-paid freight. Ordinary custom printed samples are typically USD 50–70 each; selected special finishes may be USD 100–150 each. Other formats and film trials are quoted separately.

Typical Production Timing

Digital production is typically around 8–10 working days. For gravure, cylinder making typically takes 7–9 working days, followed by around 15–20 days of production after cylinders are ready.

Approvals and Delivery

Timing follows required specification, artwork and payment approvals. Shipping, holidays and scheduling are additional factors. Qualifying gravure orders of more than 20,000 pieces per design can receive a sample-fee refund under agreed conditions.

Chocolate Packaging FAQ

What packaging bags can you make for chocolate?

Suitable projects can use printed stand-up pouches, flat premade pouches or printed rollstock for a compatible packing line. Chocolate bites, drops, coated nuts, bars and individually wrapped assortments create different briefs. Confirm direct food contact, product dimensions, storage conditions and the packing process before choosing the structure.

Can you make resealable chocolate pouches?

Yes, for suitable premade pouch projects. A zipper supports reclosure after opening, while the initial top heat seal closes the pack before sale. Review the opening, fruit or nut inclusions if present, product clearance and clean seal areas using a real filled sample.

Can chocolate packaging include a clear window?

A suitable window can be evaluated with the product’s light, oxygen and storage requirements. Continuous opaque aluminum foil or metallization cannot remain across a transparent area. A clear front and opaque back are a different construction, assessed as a complete sealed package.

Will a foil pouch stop chocolate from melting?

An opaque or foil-containing structure may address selected protection requirements, but an ordinary flexible pouch is not a temperature-control system. The chocolate producer must define and validate the storage and transport conditions. Bag selection does not replace appropriate handling, temperature control or product-process management.

Is the same bag suitable for loose chocolate and wrapped pieces?

Not automatically. Loose chocolate places the food directly against the bag, so the proposed material and intended use need review. Individually wrapped pieces add their own dimensions, edges and primary packaging. Confirm whether the outer pouch is a direct-contact pack or an assortment bag, then test the actual filled format.

What size pouch is needed for 150 g of chocolate?

There is no universal 150 g pouch size. Flat bites, chocolate drops and coated nuts have different shapes and bulk volumes; individual wrappers also take up space. Confirm the width, height, gusset, opening and seal clearance with the actual product and an approved filled sample.

What is the MOQ for custom chocolate packaging bags?

Some suitable ordinary digital pouch projects can be evaluated around 100 pieces; approximately 1,000–3,000 pieces is generally recommended for value. Ordinary gravure projects generally start around 10,000 pieces. Dimensions, structure, bag format, artwork count and finishes affect the suitable minimum. Rollstock follows separate kilogram-based conditions.

Can you print several chocolate flavors or seasonal designs?

Yes. Share the quantity per SKU, the bag dimensions and any shared material, window or finish. Compare digital and gravure using the full project and repeat-order plan. Multiple designs are not automatically priced as one design.

Can you supply film for chocolate bar flow wrapping?

Printed rollstock can be evaluated using the machine supplier’s approved drawing and sealing requirements. Confirm web width, repeat, eye mark, unwind direction, core and reel limits, plus product contact and the heat-seal or other sealing brief. Cold-seal or special processes require separate capability confirmation; they are not assumed from the artwork.

Can I get a sample and a free design mockup?

Available reference samples are normally free, with buyer-paid freight. Custom printed samples and film trials are quoted for the actual specification. A free static mockup is normally prepared within two days after the necessary logo, product information and design idea have been received. Final materials, dimensions and artwork are approved separately.
