Which Film Fits Your Cookie Pack?

Begin with the cookie arrangement and the machine supplier’s approved film drawing. A single round cookie, a loaded tray and a small loose multipack have different dimensions, feeding behavior and seal-clearance needs.

Keep fragile pieces and crumbs clear of the seal areas. Review product contact, moisture and storage requirements with film fit and sealing conditions. The packaging specification must work on the intended line, not only look right in a mockup.

Different contents · different forming geometry

Single-Cookie, Tray and Multipack Flow Wraps

Single Cookies

Record diameter or length/width, thickness and expected variation. Plan the usable space and end seals around the cookie, including edges or protruding inclusions.

Tray-Supported Packs

Use the fully loaded tray’s overall dimensions, not cookie dimensions alone. Check tray edges, height, feeding orientation and protection during handling.

Small Multipacks

Confirm count, arrangement and settled position. Loose mini cookies, stacked biscuits and aligned rows need different clearance and product-control reviews.

Need a multi-use retail bag with a zipper instead? Explore custom resealable cookie packaging bags. That premade-bag route differs from film supplied for your flow wrapper.

Printed film supply

From Film Reels to Formed Cookie Packs

Specify the Reel and the Finished-Pack Requirement

Runlong Pack supplies printed rollstock for suitable packing equipment. Your line forms the wrapper around the cookie or loaded tray, makes the longitudinal seal and closes the ends.

The photograph shows cookie film reels from the existing media library. Each new order still needs its own approved web specification, artwork and material; another reel’s appearance does not confirm compatibility with your line.

Confirm Film Width, Repeat and Seal Positions

Product dimensions help prepare the brief. The machine supplier confirms the forming and sealing layout, including the allowance around the product and the approved cut/repeat pitch.

SpecificationInformation to sendReview point
Product or tray sizeCookie dimensions and variation, count/arrangement, loaded tray length, width and height if used.Forming clearance, feeding orientation and the packed cross-section.
Web widthApproved film width and longitudinal-seal allowance.Fit around the cookie or tray; a generic finished-pack width is insufficient.
Cut/repeat pitchApproved machine drawing and product spacing.Clearance at the end seals and cut position; do not substitute an informal cookie-to-cookie distance.
Registration markEye-mark position, dimensions and contrast requirements.Print registration and repeatable artwork/cut alignment.
Unwind and reelPrint orientation, unwind direction, core inner diameter and maximum reel diameter/weight.Correct threading and compatibility with the unwind unit.
Sealing methodMachine model, heat-seal or special-process requirements and agreed trial conditions.Material compatibility, longitudinal/end seal layout and clean seal areas.

Approve one drawing revision for the film and artwork. A rendered pack, an old roll or a supplier’s generic dimension chart cannot replace that approval. No universal packing speed is assumed.

Recipe · storage · sealing

Match the Film to the Cookie and Packing Process

Crisp or Soft Recipes

Share the product’s moisture requirements, oils, fillings or inclusions and target shelf life. Crisp biscuits and soft cookies do not automatically need the same structure.

Clean, Compatible Seals

Keep crumbs, flour dust, chocolate residue and tray edges out of seal areas. Review feeding, clearance and sealant compatibility on the actual equipment.

Special Sealing Needs

State any cold-seal requirement early. Supply capability, coating layout and process conditions need separate confirmation. Ordinary printed-film capability does not establish cold-seal capability.

Transparent, metallized or foil-containing structures can be assessed where suitable. Review the relevant barrier information and the complete sealed package. Metallic appearance, film thickness or a generic material name alone does not establish performance.

Considering a clear area? Keep the film intact and reserve the viewing area in the print/white-ink layout. Continuous opaque foil or metallization cannot remain across a transparent area. Review product visibility, material and storage requirements together.

Runlong Pack uses food-grade raw materials without recycled, secondary or scrap materials. Available food-contact documentation is reviewed for the proposed structure and intended use. The food producer validates the product and shelf life in the final pack. See compliance and quality information.

Plan for Crumbs, Fragility and Trays

Use representative cookiesInclude normal thickness variation, inclusions and expected fragments. Confirm the product condition when it reaches the wrapper.
Check loading and film fitReview feeding and forming clearance. Too-tight packaging or unsuitable handling can put pressure on fragile edges.
Test any tray as suppliedInclude the actual tray and cookie arrangement. Confirm edges, overall height, orientation and carton fit.
Approve handling performanceInspect agreed seal, registration, transport and storage requirements with filled packs. Flexible film alone does not guarantee crush protection.

Any gas-flush or other special packing process needs its own equipment and product review. It does not by itself establish a shelf-life claim.

Design for the Formed Pack, Not Just the Flat Web

Show the Cookie Clearly

Use a readable brand and product name, with coordinated colors for different recipes or pack counts. Shape imagery or a suitable clear area can help identify the contents.

Map the Print Areas

Keep important text and barcodes clear of the longitudinal seam, end seals and cut lines. Reserve room for ingredients, relevant allergens, net quantity and lot/date coding.

Approve Each Design

Review artwork on the agreed film drawing and check legibility after formation. Buyers provide and approve market-specific product wording and any claims.

Film quantity and print planning

Trial Quantity, Commercial Orders and Reorders

Order stagePlanning referenceConfirm for your project
Suitable digital trialSome projects around 10 kg may be evaluated; not a universal film MOQ. Unit packaging cost can be high.Equipment, structure, width, printing, process and an agreed trial quantity.
Normal commercial orderGenerally recommended around 300 kg or more.Approved web specification, quantity per design and suitable digital or gravure production.
Repeat ordersPlan from actual consumption and usable film yield.SKU mix, setup loss, drawing revision, delivery needs and reorder timing.

Film is not ordered using a premade-pouch piece MOQ. Pack count per kilogram depends on width, repeat, structure, thickness and usable yield. The approximately 37 cm finished digital pouch-width limit is not a rollstock web-width specification.

Samples and Trials

Available reference samples are normally free, with buyer-paid freight. A custom film trial is quoted separately for its specification, printing and quantity. Test with actual cookies and the intended line.

Production Timing

For suitable standard projects, digital production is typically around 8–10 working days. Gravure cylinder making typically takes 7–9 working days, followed by around 15–20 days of production after cylinders are ready.

Approval and Delivery

Timing follows final specification/artwork approval and the required payment. Trials, special processes, scheduling, holidays and shipping can add time. Confirm the actual order plan before production.

Cookie Flow Wrap Film FAQ

Do you supply cookie bags or cookie flow wrap film?

This page covers custom printed film supplied on reels for compatible flow-wrap equipment. Your line forms, fills and seals the individual packs. Finished packs in the Hero are illustrative design concepts, not an offer for individually made premade flow-wrap wrappers or packed cookies. Resealable premade cookie bags are covered on a separate page.

Can one film specification work for single cookies and tray packs?

Not automatically. A single cookie’s diameter and thickness differ from the overall dimensions of a loaded tray or a group of cookies. Product clearance, forming geometry, longitudinal seal and end-seal layout must be reviewed using the machine supplier’s approved drawing for each format.

What details do you need for a cookie film quotation?

Send cookie dimensions, count per pack, product photo and any tray drawing. Include the machine model, approved web width and cut/repeat pitch, eye-mark requirements, unwind direction, core and reel limits, sealing method, material requirements, quantity per design and destination.

Can the pack have a transparent area?

Suitable transparent-film structures can reserve an intact clear area in the artwork. Review the viewing area, white ink, product placement and complete material structure together. Continuous opaque foil or metallization cannot remain across a transparent area. Clear packaging does not automatically provide the same protection as a fully opaque construction.

Which film is best for crisp cookies or soft cookies?

There is no universal structure for both. Share the recipe category, oils, inclusions, surface condition, target shelf life and storage environment, plus sealing requirements. Material selection and the final sealed pack need product-specific evaluation. The food producer validates product quality and shelf life.

Can flow wrapping prevent cookies from breaking?

A flexible wrapper alone cannot guarantee crush protection. Cookie shape and fragility, tray support if used, loading, film fit, equipment settings and carton arrangement affect the result. Check representative filled packs under agreed handling conditions before approving the specification.

Do you supply cold-seal cookie film?

Tell us if your machine or product requires cold seal before quotation. Cold-seal and other special processes require separate capability, coating-layout and specification confirmation. They are not automatically included in an ordinary printed-film offer. Heat-seal materials also require review against the actual machine and product.

What is the MOQ for custom cookie flow wrap film?

Some digital film trials around 10 kg may be evaluated when equipment, structure, web width and process conditions are suitable. This is not a universal MOQ and unit packaging cost can be high. Normal commercial film orders are generally recommended around 300 kg or more. Confirm the actual specification and quantity per design.

Can you estimate the number of cookie packs per roll?

An estimate requires the approved web width, repeat, structure, thickness and reel quantity. There is no fixed pack count per kilogram or reel. Account separately for setup, splices, trimming and production loss; final usable yield depends on the approved specification and packing process.

Can I request film samples and a free mockup?

Available reference samples are normally free, with buyer-paid freight. Customer-specific film trials are quoted separately for the actual material, printing and quantity. A free static mockup is normally prepared within two days after the necessary logo, product details and design idea are received. It does not replace the approved film drawing or line trial.
