Custom Ice Cream Packaging
Custom printed premade bags, rollstock film and secondary takeaway packaging for ice cream, popsicles, mochi, frozen bites and multipacks.
Runlong Pack supplies primary flexible packaging and secondary takeaway packaging for suitable frozen treat projects. We develop specifications around your product, packing method, dimensions, quantity, artwork and delivery requirements.

Start with the package and the process
Which Ice Cream Packaging Do You Need?
Choose premade pouches when you need converted empty bags for a suitable filling and final-sealing process. Choose printed rollstock when your equipment forms and seals the package from film. Paper carry bags and insulated delivery bags are secondary outer packaging for products already packed in their primary packaging.
Selected digitally printed premade pouch projects may start from approximately 100 pcs; this is not a minimum for every format. Rollstock, paper carry bags and insulated bags require separate order planning and specification review.
Quick Facts for Your Project
| Decision | Planning reference |
|---|---|
| Primary packaging | Suitable premade flexible pouches and custom printed rollstock film |
| Secondary packaging | Paper carry bags and insulated takeaway or delivery bags for already packed products |
| Digital premade pouch quantities | Selected projects: approximately 100 pcs; 1,000–3,000 pcs is often more practical |
| Gravure premade pouch quantities | Typical projects evaluated from approximately 10,000 pcs; around 40,000+ pcs often improves economics |
| Rollstock quantities | Selected digital trials: approximately 10 kg may be possible; approximately 300 kg+ is a commercial order reference |
| Size limitation | Maximum finished bag width for suitable digital pouch projects: approximately 37 cm; other dimensions require review |
| Material and performance | Selected for the actual product, storage, handling and sealing conditions; no universal structure or cold-retention claim |

Primary packaging is different from secondary packaging. Paper carry bags and insulated outer bags do not replace the primary food-contact package.
Two primary flexible packaging routes
Primary Ice Cream Packaging Options
The primary package is used around or immediately contains the frozen product. The right flexible packaging format depends on how you fill, wrap and seal it.
Premade Ice Cream Bags
Runlong Pack supplies converted empty flexible pouches that you fill and complete with the required final sealing process. Stand-up pouches, flat pouches and other suitable premade formats can be reviewed for mochi ice cream, frozen bites, multi-piece desserts and suitable multipacks.
Send the product type and dimensions, pieces per pack, preferred pouch format, filling opening, final sealing method, quantity and number of designs.
Final bag dimensions should be confirmed from the actual packed product and packing method rather than net weight alone.
Printed Rollstock Film
Custom printed film can be developed for compatible wrapping equipment used for ice cream bars, popsicles, frozen bars and other suitable automatic packing applications.
Confirm the machine manufacturer and model, current film specification, film width, print repeat, eye mark, unwind direction, core ID, maximum roll dimensions and estimated film quantity.
Rollstock specifications should be matched to your actual packaging equipment and packing process.

Premade or Rollstock: How to Decide
Start with the equipment and loading process you already use or plan to install. An empty pouch and a continuous film roll are different production inputs; matching artwork does not make them interchangeable.
If you do not know the complete roll specification, send photos of the current roll, finished package and film installed on the machine, together with the machine manufacturer and model.
Single-bar finished wraps shown in design illustrations demonstrate a rollstock application. Special single-bar flow-wrap premade bags, unusual shapes and cone wrappers are subject to separate review and are not standard offers on this page.
| Your packing route | What you receive | Confirm first |
|---|---|---|
| Load product into a converted bag | Premade empty pouches in an agreed format | Packed dimensions, opening, filling method and final seal |
| Form and seal the package on compatible equipment | Printed film rolls | Machine specification, web width, repeat, unwind and sealing requirements |
| Carry or deliver already packed products | Paper carry bags or insulated outer bags | Load, dimensions, condensation and delivery conditions |

Applications
Applications of Custom Ice Cream Packaging

Mochi Ice Cream & Frozen Bites
Premade pouches can be considered for suitable multi-piece projects when the pouch matches the filling and sealing process. Confirm piece count, product dimensions, an inner tray or no tray, individual wrapping, pouch dimensions and filling method. Printed weights in concept artwork are not standard capacities.
Ice Cream Bars & Popsicles
Printed rollstock can be developed for compatible wrapping equipment. Confirm machine and film specifications for each project, including the intended seal arrangement. Do not select film by the food name or package appearance alone.
Mini Ice Cream Multipacks
Flexible outer bags can group individually wrapped frozen products. Confirm the number of inner products, whether they are individually wrapped, their arrangement, outer pack dimensions, loading method and final seal.
Other Frozen Treat Packaging
For ice cream sandwiches, frozen desserts or unusual formats, send dimensions, existing packaging and packing-process information. We review the format against the actual application before recommending a structure.
Custom Ice Cream Packaging Options
Coordinate packaging format, dimensions, material structure, total thickness, custom printing and surface finish with the packing process. Tear notches, zippers where suitable, multiple designs and flavor variations can be discussed for the selected format.
Materials & Barrier
Material structure and thickness are selected according to the product, storage conditions, handling, sealing process and project requirements. There is no single PET/PE or other construction for every ice cream package.
Review moisture and oxygen protection needs, light exposure where relevant, resistance to handling damage and the required sealing behavior. The final structure depends on the product, shelf-life target, packing process and destination-market requirements.
Size & Production Limits
Measure the actual product arrangement, trays and inner wraps. Include room for loading, seal areas and any zipper or other feature. For suitable digital pouch projects, maximum finished bag width is approximately 37 cm.
Rollstock dimensions must fit the actual equipment. Cold-storage performance, unusual constructions and special shapes require project review; the printed artwork does not establish a validated production specification.

Printing Options for Ice Cream Packaging
Digital Printing
Approx. 100 pcs
Selected premade pouch projects may start at this quantity when the pouch format and material structure are suitable. Approximately 1,000–3,000 pcs is often a more practical range for cost efficiency.
- No gravure cylinder fee
- CMYK artwork is normally suitable
- Suitable digital pouch width: up to approximately 37 cm
- Multiple designs can sometimes be evaluated on combined volume
Digital suitability is reviewed for each format and structure.
Gravure Printing
Approx. 10,000 pcs+
Typical premade pouch projects can be evaluated from this quantity. Around 40,000+ pcs is often more economical for stable repeat orders.
- Cylinders typically cost approximately USD 30–80 per color
- Around 8,000 pcs may already justify a comparison with digital
- Dimensions, artwork, SKU count and repeat-order plans affect the comparison
- Different designs require separate cylinder consideration
Ice Cream Packaging MOQ & Order Planning
| Packaging route | Order reference | How to apply it |
|---|---|---|
| Digitally printed premade pouches | Selected projects from approx. 100 pcs | Approx. 1,000–3,000 pcs is often more practical; confirm format and structure |
| Gravure premade pouches | Typical evaluation from approx. 10,000 pcs | Review each design, dimensions and repeat-order plan |
| Selected digital rollstock trials | Approx. 10 kg may be possible | Trial feasibility, structure and machine requirements need confirmation |
| Commercial rollstock | Approx. 300 kg+ recommended as a commercial reference | Confirm film specification, printing method and designs |
| Paper carry bags and insulated bags | Quoted separately | Primary pouch or film quantities do not apply to these outer bags |
Final MOQ depends on packaging format, dimensions, material structure, printing method and number of designs. Provide total quantity, design count and quantity per design. Digital combined-volume options need review; gravure production considers each design separately because different artwork requires different cylinders.
Planning several flavors?
Send the total quantity, SKU count and quantity per design for a printing comparison.
Typical Production Lead Time
| Stage | Typical reference |
|---|---|
| Digital flexible packaging production | Approximately 8–10 working days |
| Gravure cylinder making | Approximately 7–9 working days |
| Gravure production after cylinders are completed | Approximately 15–20 days |
Production timing starts after the required specifications, artwork and payment arrangements are confirmed. Shipping time is separate. Confirm the current schedule for your project; paper carry bag and insulated bag schedules are quoted separately.
Samples & Packaging Confirmation
Sample Options
- Existing or historical samples: free; you pay shipping
- Digital samples with your design: approximately USD 40–50 per sample
- Special finishes such as UV or hot stamping: approximately USD 100–150 per sample
For an applicable gravure order of 20,000 pcs or more in a single design, the sample fee may be fully refunded according to the project.
What to Check
Use samples to confirm dimensions, product fit, print appearance, filling opening and sealing requirements. Agree the material and relevant validation requirements for the actual frozen product.
Rollstock machine trials and trial film quantities are discussed separately. A visual print sample alone does not confirm equipment compatibility or cold-storage performance.

Coordinate flavors and print layouts
Artwork & Print Preparation
Final artwork should follow the confirmed pouch dieline or rollstock layout. Check the brand and product name, flavor or SKU, barcode, seal areas, fold positions, important text and print orientation.
CMYK artwork is normally suitable for digital printing; Pantone is not a mandatory digital-printing requirement. Discuss color expectations with the selected print process before approval.
Keep important text and codes clear of agreed seal and fold zones. Rollstock layouts also need the confirmed repeat, registration mark and unwind direction.

Takeaway & Delivery Packaging for Ice Cream
Alongside primary flexible packaging, Runlong Pack can discuss outer packaging for retail takeaway and delivery. These formats are used after the ice cream or frozen product has already been packed in its primary packaging.

Custom Paper Carry Bags
Use branded paper carry bags for ice cream shops, frozen dessert stores, retail purchases, takeaway orders and gift or multipack carrying.
An inner laminated or coated layer can improve moisture resistance and help the paper bag maintain its appearance when cold products create condensation. Select the paper, inner treatment and any reinforcement according to product weight, condensation and carrying conditions.
Options include full-color printing, custom dimensions, handles, a reinforced bottom where required, logos, patterns and retail artwork.
For a quotation: send dimensions, expected weight, products per bag, expected condensation, handle style, printing requirements and quantity.

Insulated Delivery Bags
Insulated outer bags can add an insulating layer and help reduce temperature change during takeaway or delivery of already packed ice cream and frozen desserts.
Actual performance depends on the bag structure, insulation material, product temperature and load, ambient temperature, delivery duration, opening frequency and any ice packs or other cooling aids. Cold-retention time must be evaluated under the actual transport conditions.
Full-color branding can be discussed according to the selected bag structure and printing method.
For a quotation: send dimensions, product count, expected load, delivery distance and duration, closure, handles, branding and required insulation structure.
Separate outer-bag specifications from primary-pack specifications. A moisture-resistant paper carry bag and an insulated delivery bag solve different handling needs. Neither establishes food-contact suitability or replaces the primary package.

From Primary Packaging to Takeaway & Delivery
Primary Packaging
Suitable premade flexible pouches and printed rollstock film are selected around the product and the filling or wrapping process.
Retail Carry & Delivery Packaging
Paper carry bags with a moisture-resistant inner treatment where required support retail carrying. Insulated outer bags address additional delivery needs, with performance reviewed against the actual conditions.
A single ice cream project may require more than one packaging level. Discuss the primary pack, retail carry bag and delivery bag together so their dimensions and intended loads can be coordinated.
What We Confirm Before Production
