Confirm the opening, fill weight, finished dimensions and sealing method before production. A bag that looks right on the shelf may still be unsuitable for the machine grippers or filling nozzle.

Printed rollstock

Use printed flexible film when compatible equipment forms, fills and seals the pack. Confirm machine type, web width, bag length, print repeat, unwind direction, core size, maximum roll diameter, eye mark and target speed if known.

Compatibility must be checked with the specific machine and trial conditions—not assumed for every VFFS line.

Printed rollstock

Detergent powder rollstock is supplied as film for automatic forming, filling and sealing. Typical VFFS washing powder packaging produces a pillow / back-seal bag with a longitudinal center back fin seal and horizontal top and bottom cross seals. Special formats require machine-specific confirmation.

Large Laundry Powder Bags with Carry Handles

A die-cut carry handle can be considered for suitable larger retail or family-size bags when the finished dimensions, seal area and construction allow it.

Confirm fill weight and actual powder volume.
Specify handle position and clearance from the filling opening and seals.
Review the filled-pack shape and handling conditions.
Validate carrying and transport with the actual filled bag where practical.

Digital premade production has a practical maximum finished width of approximately 37 cm. Larger washing powder bags may therefore require gravure production. A pictured handle is not a tested load-rating guarantee.

How Printed Rollstock Becomes a Back-Seal Bag

A back seal is the longitudinal joint where the film edges meet at the rear of the package. For a typical fin-seal construction, the sealant faces meet and form a fin; confirm the required seal style with the equipment supplier.

1. Printed rollstock

Printed flexible film feeds from the roll in the confirmed unwind direction.

2. Forming

The forming collar and tube shape the film into a tube.

3. Longitudinal seal

The film edges join at the back; a fin seal is a common configuration.

4. Bottom closure & filling

Once the bottom is closed, the powder is dosed into the forming tube. Powder flow and dust control affect the sealing area.

5. Cross sealing & cutting

Horizontal jaws close the pack and separate successive bags. Operations may overlap in the machine cycle.

6. Finished pillow bag

The finished pack has a printed front, a vertical back seal and top/bottom horizontal seals.

This is an illustrative process, not a machine operating instruction. The timing and sealing arrangement depend on the line. Ordinary VFFS rollstock should not be specified as automatically producing flat-bottom or eight-side-seal pouches.

Provide the machine specification or an existing film roll specification. Confirm usable web width, print repeat, unwind direction, core, maximum OD and eye-mark position before artwork finalization.

What Should Be Checked for Detergent Powder Packaging?

Powder flow & seal area

Fine powder can enter the sealing area during filling. Consider the dosing method, dust and seal clearance with the actual formulation.

Moisture exposure

If humidity causes clumping, describe the intended storage and distribution conditions. Select and validate the structure accordingly.

Weight & volume

Equal weights of different formulations may occupy different volumes. Weight alone is insufficient for sizing.

Filling equipment

Premade bags need a suitable opening and sealing setup. Rollstock needs confirmed film, registration and roll specifications.

Seal validation

Where practical, trial the selected packaging with actual powder, filling conditions and sealing settings before mass production.

Handling & distribution

Check the filled-pack shape, handle area where applicable, stacking and transport conditions. Define the tests needed for your project.

How Do You Choose the Bag Size for Washing Powder?

Fill weight alone does not determine bag size. A 500 g, 1 kg or 2 kg product needs volume and format information, not a universal dimensions chart.

Material Structure Is Selected by the Project

Runlong Pack does not apply one fixed film structure or thickness to every washing powder bag. Powder characteristics, humidity exposure, fill weight, dimensions, handling, sealing conditions and transport requirements determine what should be evaluated.

Storage requirements

Describe humidity exposure, intended shelf life and distribution conditions so moisture-related requirements can be assessed.

Sealing requirements

Match the sealant layer and trial conditions to the equipment and powder contamination risk. Material selection is not a substitute for seal testing.

Pack construction

Consider puncture and handling needs, gussets, handle area, opacity or window requirements. Confirm performance rather than assuming it from appearance.

Final structure should be confirmed against the product, shelf-life target, filling process and market requirements. No fixed laminate, micron thickness or unverified environmental or chemical-resistance claim is implied here.

Printed rollstock

A commercial starting guideline, not a universal absolute MOQ. Rollstock is evaluated by net film weight rather than finished bag count.

Reference cost: USD 50–70 per piece. Suitability depends on format, dimensions and production method; not every larger handled bag can be digitally sampled.

Special finishes

Reference cost: USD 100–150 per piece for finishes such as UV or hot stamping, subject to feasibility and quotation.

For qualified gravure bulk orders over 20,000 pcs per design, sample fees may be fully refunded, subject to confirmation. Confirm eligibility and terms before ordering samples.
