Packaging Built Around Your Granola Range

Classic Oat Clusters

Plan the usable volume around cluster size and how the granola settles. Leave enough headspace for filling, zipper operation and the initial top seal without compressing the product.

Nut, Seed and Dried-Fruit Blends

Different inclusions change density, shape and sensitivity to oxygen or moisture. Share the actual recipe and storage target so the structure is evaluated for the whole blend.

Cocoa and Specialty Recipes

Give each flavor a distinct color and readable name while retaining a consistent bag size where filling trials support it. This can simplify shelf presentation and repeat-order planning.

Choose a Retail Bag That Fits the Way You Sell

Resealable Stand-Up Pouches

A versatile starting point for retail granola. The bottom gusset provides filling volume and a standing base; confirm how the filled pouch sits rather than judging an empty sample alone.

Flat-Bottom Pouches

Consider a box-shaped format when you want more printed panels and a broader shelf-facing presentation. The converting process and commercial quantities differ from ordinary stand-up pouches.

Portion Packs and Rollstock

For single servings or an equipped automatic packing line, compare small premade bags with printed rollstock. Your equipment, sealing method and expected output determine the suitable route.

Protect Crunch and Flavor with the Right Structure

Moisture Control

A moisture barrier helps limit humidity exposure before opening. Specify storage conditions and the product’s moisture sensitivity; a generic film thickness does not establish barrier performance.

Oxygen and Light

Nuts, seeds and added oils may make oxidation a purchasing concern. Compare suitable transparent, metallized or foil-containing structures using relevant performance data and the intended shelf-life target.

Closure and Initial Seal

A zipper makes repeat use convenient after opening. Keep a clean heat-seal area above the zipper for the unopened retail pack, and review sealing temperature, dwell time and pressure with the actual bag.

Let shoppers see the granola—or make the artwork do the selling

A clear window can reveal clusters and inclusions. An opaque printed pouch gives you a larger artwork area and different light-protection options. Choose around your recipe and storage requirements, then carry the same visual identity across flavors.

Size the Bag from a Filling Trial

Start with Weight and Volume

Two granolas with the same net weight can need different bags. Provide a product photo, the largest cluster size, loose-fill volume and a current package if available.

Confirm Usable Space

Specify external width, height and bottom gusset together. Clarify whether the gusset figure is one folded side or the total opened depth; allow room below the zipper and above the product.

Check the Filled Presentation

Trial-fill representative batches and assess opening width, standing behavior, shelf height and carton fit. Approve the final dimensions before releasing print-ready artwork.

Build a Consistent Printed Flavor Range

Digital for Suitable Shorter Runs

Digital printing can suit product launches, multiple artworks and smaller runs when the structure and size are compatible. Compare quantity per design and total project cost.

Gravure for Repeat Production

For stable artwork and larger orders, evaluate gravure printing. Cylinder costs are assessed for the design and colors, so flavor variants need a clear artwork and quantity plan.

Finishes That Support Your Brand

Review matte, gloss, soft-touch or selected special effects against the approved structure and budget. Keep mandatory text, barcode and lot-code areas clear in the dieline.

From Approved Sample to Repeat Order

Fill and Seal

Use the real granola to check loading, crumbs in the sealing area, top-seal clearance and zipper operation. Assess any nitrogen-flushing step with the equipment used for the project.

Storage and Distribution

Evaluate the filled package under the intended storage and shipping conditions. Packaging structure and a zipper alone do not establish a guaranteed shelf life.

Retain the Approved Specification

Keep the final dimensions, material structure, artwork version and sealing-trial record together. Share expected usage and delivery needs before arranging repeat production.

Printing, MOQ, Sampling and Production Time

Digital Printing

Some suitable ordinary pouch projects can be evaluated from around 100 pieces. Approximately 1,000–3,000 pieces is generally recommended for better value. The maximum finished digital pouch width is approximately 37 cm; material and process compatibility still need review.

Gravure Printing

Ordinary custom pouch projects generally start around 10,000 pieces, subject to size, structure and artwork. Review quantity per design and cylinder requirements when comparing a multi-flavor range.

Samples Before Production

Limited available reference samples are normally free, with freight paid by the buyer. Ordinary custom printed samples are approximately USD 50–70 each; selected special finishes are generally USD 100–150, subject to confirmation.

Flat-bottom bags use separate quantity and sampling rules: around 1,000–2,000 pieces can be evaluated for digital printing, with routes compared around 3,000+ pieces. A flat-bottom custom printed sample is approximately USD 110 each, with additional special finishes quoted separately.

For a qualifying gravure bulk order of more than 20,000 pieces per design, the sample fee may be refunded under the confirmed project arrangement.

Eligible digital production typically takes approximately 8–10 working days. New gravure cylinders normally take approximately 7–9 working days, followed by approximately 15–20 days of production after cylinders are completed. Timing starts after final artwork/specification approval and required payment; shipping is additional. Confirm the actual schedule for your project.

Custom Resealable Granola Packaging Bags FAQ

Can you manufacture custom resealable granola packaging bags?

Yes. Runlong Pack supplies empty custom printed pouches for granola brands and food manufacturers. Sizes, structures, zippers, artwork and finishes are reviewed around the product and packing process.

Which pouch format should a new granola brand choose?

A resealable stand-up pouch is a practical option to evaluate, but the final choice depends on fill volume, shelf presentation, filling method and budget. Compare filled samples before deciding.

Can granola packaging have a transparent window?

Yes, where a suitable structure is available. The clear area cannot retain a continuous opaque foil or metallized layer. Window size and placement should be reviewed alongside the whole bag’s barrier requirements.

Can one bag size work for every flavor?

Sometimes. Nut, fruit and oat proportions affect bulk density, so trial-fill each recipe before adopting a shared size. Printed net weight on a concept image is not a capacity specification.

What is the MOQ for custom granola bags?

Some suitable ordinary digital pouch projects can be evaluated from around 100 pieces, with approximately 1,000–3,000 recommended for better value. Ordinary gravure pouch projects generally start around 10,000 pieces. Flat-bottom formats have separate quantity requirements, and final MOQ depends on the specification and artwork.

Can you provide a mockup before physical sampling?

Yes. Send your logo and design ideas for a free static mockup, usually within two days after the necessary details are received. Physical samples and final print-ready artwork are separate steps.

Do you supply the granola or fill the bags?

This service is for empty custom packaging. Tell us whether you use manual filling, a premade-pouch machine or a form-fill-seal line so we can review the packaging around that process.
